Policies

Weeg.org is a privately owned Web site. This site is designed, developed and managed by Michael Weeg in Denver, CO USA. Mike Weeg is solely responsible for the content of this site.

I bought the Weeg.org domain name in March of 2001 predominantly for the ability to have an E-Mail address that ends with @weeg.org. The .com and .net were already taken, the other alternatives were .cc, .info, .biz, etc… Needless to say, the .org sounded best to me. Every two or three years I buy it for another five years. Currently, I own the name until 2017, and I will be buying another five years in the next month or so.

This is the fifth generation of Weeg.org. It is hosted by iPage.com. I hope you like it.

This site is best viewed with a screen resolution of at least 1024 X 768. If you are running at 800 X 600, it might look a little better if you hit the [F11] button on your keyboard and go full screen with it. I am using Firefox for my web browser and suggest you do the same. That is not a requirement, merely a suggestion. The site does work with Microsoft Internet Explorer (but not the Mac version). This site has not been tested with Netscape. The only real requirements for using this site are that you have good color depth (more than 256 colors) and a browser capable of frames and java.

The Weeg.org E-Mail Policy
Version 1  March, 2005

There are two types of E-Mail addresses that I offer here. If you are a Weeg, you can have one or both types. If you want a Weeg.org address, E-Mail me. We’ll talk, there is no charge for an account.

  • E-Mail Alias:
This is the concept of setting an address [AT] Weeg [DOT] org that winds up in the inbox you specified when I set you up originally. For example YourName [AT] Weeg [DOT] org shows up in your UserName [AT] WhatEverTheHeck [DOT] comaccount without making any changes on your machine. The catch here is that you need to notify me if your E-Mail address gets changed because you changed ISP (Internet Service Provider).
  • Web Based and POP3 account:
This is an account that you can log in to from the Weeg.org home page and / or your Microsoft Outlook (Eudora, Lotus Notes, Thunderbird, etc…) mail client. This style of an account will work regardless of ISP changes (just like a Yahoo mail account). You don’t even need an ISP if you want to access your E-Mail from a public computer. Never save passwords to a public computer!

Weeg.org E-Mail services are free of charge. They are for people who are in the Weeg family. Abuse (including but not limited to Spamming) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. If my web host suspects that one of these accounts are used for spamming, the account will be disabled, the user will be blacklisted, and any information the Anti-Spamming people want will be turned over.

The Weeg.org Software Policy
Version 2  November, 2012

The Weeg.org Privacy Policy
Version 2  November, 2012

I respect your right to privacy, and have developed this Privacy Statement to inform you about the privacy practices for the entire Weeg.org Web site.

Overview
Privacy is of great concern to most users of the Internet, and is a critical part of an enjoyable and satisfactory user experience.  At Weeg.org, I am sensitive to the privacy concerns of the members and other visitors to my Web site.  I assure you that I do not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to me. You should also be assured that I do not provide or sell information about my visitors to anyone.

Please note that this site contains links to other sites.  Weeg.org is not responsible for the privacy practices, privacy statements, or content regarding these other sites.

Personal Information
I do not collect any personal information from a visitor to my site unless that visitor explicitly and intentionally provides it.  If you are simply browsing the site, I do not gather any personal information about you.
Statistical Information about Your Visit
When you visit the site, the computers may automatically collect statistics about your visit.
This information does not identify you personally, but rather about a visit to the site.

I do monitor statistics such as how many people visit the site, the user’s IP address, which pages people visit on the site, from which domains my visitors reach the site, and which browsers people use.
These statistics about your visit are used for aggregation purposes only.

Your IP address is recorded when submitting a quote so I know where to send the authorities if you send a death threat.  Other than that, these statistics are only used to help improve the performance of the Web site.

Commitment To Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, I never collect or maintain information at the site from those I actually know are under 13, and no part of the site is structured to attract anyone under 13.
